Gerhard Rinkens is an award-winning architect with experience in the United States, Europe, Middle East, and Asia. He was born in Germany and received his first degree in architecture from The University at Karlsruhe in Germany. He then moved to the United States and studied for another degree at The Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, specializing in high-rise architecture and mixed-use commercial projects.

Gerhard has gathered extensive experiences working for major design firms in Chicago, New York, London, and Hong Kong on various projects in different parts of the world. These experiences enrich his cultural understanding of the East and the West. His design philosophy is to follow a dynamic yet rational concept, both in technical as well as aesthetic terms. Gerhard likes and emphasizes to design according to a functionality a client would need. He feels that it is essential to interview potential client(s) to find out about their needs and expectations. The architectural translation in fulfilling the clients' requirements into a viable and technically realistic project is a trade of Gerhard's design, which previous clients have appreciated. Therefore, a close client to designer contact is Gerhard's key approach to designing a commercially viable solutions.

As Design Principal in the UAE and European regions, Gerhard oversees the design of projects in his office at Karlsruhe, Germany.

Gerhard specializes in the design of curtain wall and cladding systems for large commercial projects, planning of super high-rise buildings and large urban centers. His skills and technical understanding allows him to arrive at design solutions for most applications at any design levels.
