Herman Poon is a Chartered Engineer in the United Kingdom and the European Union, and a corporate member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. He specializes in building services engineering, environmental engineering, and information technology, and is also a Chartered IT Professional and corporate member of the British Computer Society.

 

Herman earned a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering and a Master’s degree in Engineering Management in Hong Kong. He began his career as a data center consultant in the ASEAN region in 2009. Since then, he has designed and overseen the construction of high-performance data centers and has delivered professional training courses for engineers in Hong Kong and Singapore through CNet Training in the United Kingdom.

 

Since 2017, Herman and his firm have provided consultancy services for smart building projects. Notable work includes the 28-story new headquarters of China Taiping Insurance Company in Hong Kong, where he oversaw data center construction on the 20th floor and managed cabling, audiovisual systems, and office automation across the building and its subsidiaries. Herman combines technical expertise with practical project oversight to ensure integrated, high-quality, and efficient building solutions.
